Brownies

We have four Brownie Packs which meet each week during term time. They are known as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Alloway Brownies. Each pack has approximately 24 young girls aged between 7 and 10 years of age divided into packs of 6 girls. Each Six has a leader known as a Sixer with an aid referred to as a Seconder. The leaders are known as Brown Owl, Tawny Owl, Snowy Owl and Barn Owl.

A wide variety of activities are enjoyed by the girls ranging from athletic events and games held inside and outside the Church Hall; visiting places of interest such as the local Hospital, Police Station, Fire Station, Theatre, Swimming Pool and Science Park; inviting speakers to inform about a variety of topics such as Training Dogs for the Blind, SSCPA and how to card and spin wool. The girls make things using a variety of craft materials and techniques, bake and decorate, sew and knit.

All Brownies are encouraged to pass Badges in as many areas of interest as possible and by so doing will develop and/or improve - skills, organisational abilities, self-confidence and a helpful and caring attitude.  It is hoped that all girls joining the Brownies will have fun and look forward to coming each week.
