Alloway Church opens its doors to visitors for 14 weeks during the summer - from the beginning of June until early September, from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. On average, we have around 3,000 visitors from all over the world, who enjoy the tranquillity and the beauty of the surroundings, especially our magnificent stained-glass windows.

2006 will be our 23rd year of Church Opening and our 14 week season starts on Monday 29th May and finished on Friday 1st September.

We need volunteers to staff the Church, two people for each three hour session from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. If you can help, please enter your name in the large blue diary, which will be on the vestibule table from mid-May. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet people from all over the world.

You do not have to know all the details of the windows of Church history, as the leaflets provide plenty of information. For those volunteers who have staffed the Church before, we look forward to seeing you again. For those who have not yet participated, come along and be part of the team. We have much to be proud of here in Alloway: let’s share it with our visitors.
