Ayrshire Clarinet Choir

The Ayrshire Clarinet Choir has been existence for over 20 years, founded by Mrs. Barbara Lee, teacher of woodwind instruments in East Ayrshire, and meets alternately in Auchinleck Chapel Halls and Alloway Church Halls, on a Monday evening at 7.00 - 9.00 pm.

Our present joint musical directors are Mr. Jim Baines and Miss Laura Bohan.  The Choir is of mixed age-groups, roughly half and half between students and adults.

We play at various functions –  ‘dates’ in recent years  have included a concert at Straiton Parish Church, a regular stint at the Hospice Christmas Fair at the Citadel,  welcoming the Ayr Hospital Volunteers at their ‘thank you’ evening and sessions of Christmas carol playing at Asda in Ayr in aid of SeAscape.  In December 2010 9 members took part in a highly successful East Ayrshire Twinning trip to Joue les Tours in France.

We are an enthusiastic and friendly group of about 20 members and would welcome any like-minded clarinettists who would like to come along.
