Mrs. Ishbel Murnin will officially become our Honorary Church Officer today. Tea and coffee will be served in the Church Halls between services. The Traidcraft Stall will be available in the Halls vestibule for purchases. 2.00pm - Wedding Seminar in the Octagonal Hall. 7.00pm - Lantern Service - New Members’ Evening. 7.00-9.00pm - CosyCoffeeHouse in the Church Halls. Burns Celebration with a Ceilidh. Lent is a time for reflection. We set aside three evenings to watch and reflect on a “Test of Faith”. Together we will view the DVD put together by some of the finest Christian scientists of the day and gain an insight into their thinking. The meetings will be held in the Session House on Wednesdays through Lent (22nd Feb., 7th and 21st March) starting at 7.30pm and will be followed by an essential cup of tea!! Would all those wishing to order the book “Test of Faith” please sign up on the list in the church vestibule. Copies of the World Mission Newsletter are available today at the main door.
Wednesday 1st February 10.30-11.30am - Winter Coffee Morning in the Church Halls. 6.30pm - Finance Committee Meeting. 7.30pm - Congregational Board Meeting. The Property and Way Forward Committees recommend that, prior to the meeting, the Elders and Elected Board Members view the last, draft project proposals which will be on display from 6.30pm in the Octagonal Hall. Copies of the Board Minutes are available for collection on the vestibule table.
Thursday 2nd February 10.30am - Quiet Time of Prayer in the Church Halls Lounge.
Saturday 4th February (NOT Sunday 5th) 6.45 - 9.00pm - Beetle Drive in the Church Halls. A light supper will be served. Cost: Adults £2.50, children 50p. Young and old - all welcome!
Sunday 5th February 9.45 and 11.15am - Office Bearers’ Services.
Thursday 16th and Friday 17th February 7.00pm - “Cinders”. The Alloway Youth Players present a pantomime Tickets will be available from next week between services, or by calling Julie on 443867 - £2.00 each. There will be a tuck shop and ice creams available on the nights. Proceeds are for Rachael Bamford’s t;rip to Switzerland to the Guide Centre and Parish Youth Funds.
Saturday 18th February 9.30am-12.30pm - Health and Healing conference in Kingcase Church Hall, Prestwick. speaker: Rev. Father Jim McManus, Director Evangelisation Centre, on “The Healing Power of forgiveness”. cost: donation of £3.00 to help defray expenses involved. Contact: Madge Irving, 442963 for more details.
