In the mid-eighties the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland agreed to the appointment of Prayer Co-ordinators in each Presbytery. In the Assembly of 1999 the Board of National Mission was urged to encourage afresh their role and that of Prayer Promoters within each congregation.

My role as Prayer Promoter in Alloway Parish Church includes acting as a link person with the Partnership and to generally promote all aspects of prayer within the life of the congregation. This should include the encouragement of opportunities for people to learn about prayer, gather together to pray and develop an individual prayer life.

As this time one prayer triplet exists. 
These three individuals meet at 10.00 am on Thursday mornings.
