Mrs Helen Muir Rankine

This window is out of view for most of the congregation during worship being in the West facing wall of the South transept. It is a colourful window and is another of those that appeal to youngsters visiting the Church. Apart from the bright colours the message is clearly presented in symbols of the well known story of Noah and his Ark.
The window is a memorial to Mrs Helen Muir Rankine by her brother Andrew Dunlop Rankine. The window was installed by The City Glass Co. Ltd of Glasgow. The central figure of Noah is very much in the pattern of Moses as depicted in the earlier window commemorating David Fowler McIntyre; a depiction which, in turn, was derived from a similar window in Crathie Church.
The influence behind the design of these windows is Robert Douglas McLundie although he had retired by the time this window was installed in 1968.
The overall sentiment of the window is hope shown by the returning dove and the rainbow as a sign of God’s covenant of love with us.
