The next weathervane depicts Tam being chased by the "hellish throng" after he shouted out to Nannie "Weel done Cutty-sark!"
"So Maggie," ("his grey mare, Meg, a better never lifted leg,") "runs, the witches follow, wi' mony an eldritch skriech and hollow."
"For Nannie, far before the rest,
Hard upon noble Maggie prest,
And flew at Tam wi' furious ettle;"
