RB - 032 Grave of David Watt

Of general interest is the grave of David Watt, (left), miller, died 2nd of October 1823, aged 67yrs, who was the last person to be baptised in Alloway Kirk. (This grave is 3rd on the left of Wm Burnes’ stone). Also, David Ritchie of Burns Cottage, (right), died October 1860, aged 50yrs.

So it is apparent that the old graveyard was in use well into the 19th century.

RB - 034 Stone Stairs - Mounting Aid

If we look to our right as we leave the graveyard we see small stone steps used as a mounting aid when horses were in common use for getting around.
